Truffle Hunting in the Karst and Vipava Valley

Most of us know truffles from the plate. Much more rarely do we have the opportunity to discover where they grow, how trained dogs find them underground, and how much knowledge of nature a successful truffle hunt requires.

The Mati Truffle team organises truffle hunts in the Karst and Vipava Valley. You will not simply stand and watch: accompanied by their dogs, you will join the search yourself. The hunt is followed by a culinary experience with local dishes, fresh truffles and wine.

And one important detail: Mati Truffle uses fresh truffles exclusively. You will find no artificial truffle flavouring on your plate – only the wonderfully earthy, natural taste of real, freshly harvested truffles.

Behind the experience is a warm and welcoming team with extensive knowledge, a genuine passion for truffles and a very special bond with their dogs. Truffle hunts are organised for a minimum of two people and must be booked in advance.
